Unappreciated

I am a warrior returning home.
Hungry and tired, I bring spoils of war!
I beat at the door, why doesn't she hear?
Footsteps, like distant thunder roll towards the door.
"THERE'S my Tomas kitty...EWWWWW, is that a dead mouse?"
*Sigh*

    1. Yeah, we always had a "gift" waiting for us. And they always looked so betrayed when we threw them away! Lol

  2. Unappreciated for sure! Fun write AND most who have furbabies can relate. My husband was gifted a very dead and bloody baby rabbit in the middle of the night. Dropped in his hand as he lay innocently sleeping by a Bichon who loved him THAT much. Rabbit invasion stopped at the onset and yet, no one thanked her.

  7. My cat, when I had one, used to do that. Ewww. Now I have dogs. They don't do that but they do other gross things!

  9. Cats are notorious for that! So far I have never had a dog bring the spoils home for me. Great story Joe. I love how you switched viewpoints from the cat to the owner. ♥
